Can you write an article on the differences between cat and dog behavior toward their owners? For example, can a cat be picked up as easily as a small dog, or do they not like that?
Cats pretty much do whatever they want, they can only be trained in a few minor regards (i.e. getting them to use a litter box, sometimes getting them to use a regular toilet, conditioning them to associate the sound of a can opener with tuna fish, the shaking of a bag of treats with a snack, etc).
No two cats are the same, some are very sociable and will actively seek attention, some will jump on your lap on their terms but will immediately jump away if you try to pick them up, while others are fine with being picked up and held.
One of my cats seems to follow me everywhere and he also will climb on guests when I have company. When the door-bell rings he comes running to see what is going on while the other cat runs and hides and will not have a single thing to do with strangers/guests/company.
